Water Conservation
Water is one of our most
precious resources. Growth and competing demands
for fish protection and recreation throughout the Puget Sound region can
make water scarce. By using water efficiently, you can help protect
the environment for future generations, help ensure that there is enough
water – especially during dry summer months – for all water users, and save
money. Do your part to
conserve water and check out the many great conservation tips, information
on topics like natural yard care, and find money-saving rebates right here.
Tacoma Water is working
with customers to reduce average per-person water consumption by 10% between
2000 and 2010. The
10% water conservation goal
will help ensure that there is enough water
available regionally to meet the needs of people, animals, and the
environment. It makes it possible to use existing water supplies more
efficiently, provides opportunities for the development of a
regional
water supply and fish enhancement
programs, and promotes water conservation.
